Erbil (Kurdistan24) – General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, has urged the new Syrian administration to adopt an inclusive approach, emphasizing the importance of justice and equality for all citizens.

In a statement shared on his official X account, Abdi praised the efforts of Geir Pedersen, the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, in advancing the political process in the conflict-ridden country.

“We commend Pedersen’s initiatives to support and advance Syria’s political process,” Abdi wrote, stressing the need for careful and effective planning to integrate the SDF into the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

He highlighted this step as vital for fostering unity and inclusivity in Syria.

Abdi also emphasized that addressing the challenges in Rojava (northeastern Syria) requires a strategic and collaborative approach.

Integrating diverse military entities into a unified national framework, he noted, would be a significant step toward achieving a cohesive and stable Syria.

“The Syrian government must act as a true representative of all segments of society, ensuring justice and equality for everyone,” he added, underscoring the importance of inclusivity in reflecting Syria’s diverse demographics.

Abdi’s remarks come after comprehensive talks between SDF and political and security leaders of the new Syrian administration, aimed at resolving the status of the SDF with the new Syrian legitimate army.
