ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Faysal Yusuf, spokesperson for the Kurdish National Council in Syria (KNCS), announced on Monday that another meeting with Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is set to take place soon.
"The sooner this unity [Kurdish unity] is achieved, the better for Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava)," Yusuf told Kurdistan24, emphasizing the importance of consolidating Kurdish factions in the region.
He further highlighted President Masoud Barzani's and the international coalition's support for fostering unity among Kurdish parties, underscoring their commitment to a unified Kurdish political front in Syria.
Efforts to achieve Kurdish unity in Rojava have been ongoing. Multiple initiatives have been launched to bridge political differences and strengthen cooperation among various Kurdish factions in the region.
On Jan. 16, President Barzani met with SDF Commander Abdi, in which they emphasized Kurdish unity.
