ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a philanthropic initiative, President Masoud Barzani has pledged all proceeds from his books, "Staking Our Claim" and "Barzani and the Kurdish Liberation Movement," to aid orphaned children across the Kurdistan Region.
The announcement, made by the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF), underlines Barzani’s commitment to both historical preservation and social welfare.
Musa Ahmad, President of the Barzani Charitable Foundation, confirmed that both books are available in bookstores throughout the Kurdistan Region.
The foundation will oversee the equitable distribution of funds, ensuring that orphaned children receive essential support without discrimination.
Barzani’s books, which chronicle pivotal events in Kurdish history, have gained international recognition through translations into multiple languages, including Arabic, English, French, Russian, Persian, and Turkish.
The works detail critical historical moments such as the Kurdish liberation movement, the fall of the Baathist regime, post-2003 developments, the drafting of Iraq’s new constitution, the rise of ISIS, challenges to Kurdish rights in Iraq, and the events of October 16.
In addition to detailed historical narratives, the books feature extensive photographic documentation and archival materials, offering readers a comprehensive insight into President Barzani’s leadership decisions during transformative periods in Kurdish history.
This initiative highlights President Barzani’s dedication to preserving Kurdish historical narratives while directly supporting vulnerable populations.
