PM Barzani Meets al-Siyada Alliance Leader to Discuss Key Political Issues

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Khamis Khanjar, leader of the al-Siyada Alliance, on Saturday to discuss pressing political developments and the broader situation in Iraq and the region.

According to an official KRG statement, the discussions focused on strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government, with both sides stressing the need for resolving disputes through dialogue and constitutional mechanisms.

"Both sides emphasized the importance of resolving problems and disputes through dialogue and on the basis of the constitution, respecting the rights of all components, and maintaining Iraq's security and stability," the statement read.

The meeting comes at a crucial time as Iraq continues to navigate political tensions, economic challenges, and security concerns. 

The Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government have had ongoing disputes over budget allocations, oil revenues, and administrative authority. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to addressing these issues through institutional frameworks and mutual understanding.
