ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a significant move to address the concerns of civil servants in the Kurdistan Region, Hawre Tofiq, the head of the Iraqi presidency’s relations, announced on Sunday that Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid has filed a lawsuit against the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Finance Minister Taif Sami in the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq.

The lawsuit, filed on January 20, seeks to ensure the timely payment of salaries for civil servants in the Kurdistan Region. President Rashid has taken legal action in an effort to address ongoing delays in the disbursement of financial entitlements to the region’s civil servants.

Tofiq emphasized that the lawsuit aims to remove any technical obstacles that could hinder the smooth transfer of the necessary funds. The Iraqi Presidency is calling on the Federal Supreme Court to issue an order that would guarantee the uninterrupted and timely payment of salaries for the Kurdistan Region’s civil servants. This move reflects a commitment to resolving the issue and supporting civil servants in the region.

This development marks a crucial step towards securing the financial stability of civil servants in the Kurdistan Region.
