ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister has reaffirmed the region’s commitment to strengthening ties with Gulf countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the potential for expanded investment and economic collaboration.

In an interview with al-Arabia news channel, the Prime Minister highlighted Kurdistan’s strong relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and expressed optimism about elevating these partnerships.

“We would like to see more Gulf and Saudi companies investing in Kurdistan and exploring the many opportunities available,” he stated, noting that the region’s strategic location, rich culture, and natural landscapes make it an attractive destination for both investors and visitors.

Shared Economic Vision and Investment Prospects

The discussion also touched on similarities between Kurdistan’s economic strategy and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify beyond oil and promote tourism and various other sectors.

The Prime Minister underscored Kurdistan’s unique climate and natural resources as key factors for potential cooperation.

“There are promising opportunities that may not exist elsewhere, such as in minerals, tourism, and environmental initiatives. Kurdistan offers a distinct climate compared to other Arab and Gulf states, which opens doors for various collaborations,” he explained.

He emphasized the importance of fostering direct business engagements and creating links between enterprises, governments, and chambers of commerce to facilitate trade and investment.

“If the right frameworks are established, there are significant opportunities for all parties involved,” the Prime Minister added.

As the Kurdistan Region continues its push for economic diversification and international partnerships, officials remain optimistic that enhanced Gulf cooperation will bring mutual benefits, further integrating the region into the broader Middle Eastern economic landscape.
