PM Barzani meets with Turkish Energy Minister to strengthen bilateral ties
Both leaders expressed their commitment to overcoming existing challenges and agreed to take decisive steps to resolve any obstacles to the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Sunday, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar and his delegation to a significant meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey. The meeting, held in the Kurdistan Region, was centered on enhancing bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding collaboration in the energy sector.
Both leaders expressed their commitment to overcoming existing challenges and agreed to take decisive steps to resolve any obstacles to the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region through the Turkish port of Ceyhan. This move is expected to pave the way for more efficient and smoother energy exports, benefiting both the Kurdistan Region and Turkey's energy interests.
The discussions highlighted the growing partnership between the two regions, reflecting a shared vision for economic growth and energy security in the region. The agreement promises to further strengthen the longstanding ties between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, with energy at the forefront of their strategic collaboration.
Minister Bayraktar is scheduled to meet with senior officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to discuss key issues and opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
