Prime Minister Barzani Highlights Government Formation and Budget Issues in Talks with US Diplomats

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday met with Daniel Rubinstein, the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, alongside Steve Bitner, the Consul General of the United States in the Kurdistan Region. The officials discussed the ongoing efforts to form a new cabinet for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Prime Minister Barzani stressed that the process of forming the new government is progressing smoothly and effectively, highlighting the importance of government performance as a foundation for the cabinet's success. The meeting underscored the collaborative approach in addressing key issues affecting both the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

One of the central topics of the discussions was the need for solutions to the ongoing economic challenges faced by the Kurdistan Region, particularly in relation to securing the region's budget share from the federal government.
