ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a significant meeting on Sunday, Iraq’s National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji and US Charge d’Affaires in Baghdad Daniel Rubinstein emphasized Iraq's crucial role in ensuring stability and security across the region.

The meeting, held at al-Araji’s office in Baghdad, focused on recent regional developments and underscored the ongoing cooperation between Iraq and the United States, particularly in the areas of counterterrorism and other shared interests.

A statement from the National Security Adviser’s media office, shared with The Iraqi News Agency (INA), highlighted the mutual commitment to strengthening Iraq’s position as a key player in regional and international security efforts.

Both officials reaffirmed Iraq's vital role in fostering peace and stability, acknowledging the country's importance in addressing security challenges at both regional and global levels.

This meeting underscores the deepening partnership between Iraq and the US, as both nations work together to promote a more secure and stable future for the region.

Iraq’s partnership with the United States has been key in addressing these challenges. Since the defeat of ISIS in 2017, the U.S. and Iraq have worked together on multiple fronts, including military cooperation, counterterrorism efforts, and economic development. The US military continues to assist Iraqi forces in training and providing critical support for their counterterrorism operations.
