Kurdistan Region Border Crossings with Iran Operating Normally Amid Flight Suspensions
Israeli strikes on June 13 hit Iran’s nuclear sites and top military leaders, killing key IRGC commanders and scientists. Over 25 cities and facilities were targeted. Iran vows retaliation. The assault jeopardizes upcoming U.S.-Iran nuclear talks in Oman.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Despite regional tensions and the suspension of international flights following Israeli airstrikes on Iran, trade through the Kurdistan Region’s border crossings continues without disruption, according to officials.
Kurdistan24 correspondent Hoshmand Sadiq reported on Friday that he spoke with authorities at several key land crossings, who confirmed that commercial activity remains stable and unimpeded. “There are no issues affecting trade movement across the border,” officials told Sadiq, easing concerns about potential economic fallout.
While flights to and from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region have been temporarily suspended by the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority due to security risks, tourists who had traveled to Iran are expected to return to the Kurdistan Region via land routes on Friday.
The flight suspension comes in the wake of a series of Israeli airstrikes early Friday targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) headquarters and multiple locations in Tehran. The attacks resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials.
