Netanyahu Vows to Strike Every Iranian Target, Claims Blow to Nuclear Program
“We will hit every site, every target of the ayatollah regime.”
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday vowed to continue striking Iranian targets, asserting that Israel had already delivered a “real blow” to Tehran’s nuclear program, amid an escalating air campaign between the two longtime adversaries.
According to AFP, in a video statement released on the second day of Israel’s aerial offensive against Iran, Netanyahu declared, “We will hit every site, every target of the ayatollah regime.”
The Israeli leader went on to say that the strikes, which began on Friday, had “dealt a real blow to their nuclear program,” without specifying which facilities had been targeted or the extent of the damage inflicted.
Israel’s campaign follows heightened regional tensions and reciprocal threats between the two nations, with concerns mounting over the risk of broader conflict in the Middle East. The Israeli government has repeatedly insisted that it will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, viewing such a development as an existential threat.
According to The Times of Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday issued a rare direct appeal to the Iranian people, expressing hope that Israel’s ongoing military campaign—Operation Rising Lion—would ultimately help them achieve their freedom. In a video message delivered in English, Netanyahu described the Islamic Republic as an “evil and oppressive regime” that has suppressed its citizens for nearly five decades and continues to pose a grave threat to Israel.
Netanyahu characterized the operation, which has targeted Iranian military and nuclear facilities, as “one of the greatest military operations in history,” and framed it not only as a defensive measure for Israel but also as a potential catalyst for political change within Iran. “The time has come for the Iranian people to unite around its flag and its historic legacy,” he said, calling on Iranians to rise up against a regime that he claimed threatens both their freedom and Israel’s existence. He further suggested that the campaign could pave the way for the toppling of the Islamic Republic’s leadership.
“As we achieve our objective, we are also clearing the path for you to achieve your freedom,” he said.
“The regime does not know what hit them, or what will hit them. It has never been weaker. This is your opportunity to stand up and let your voices be heard. Woman, Life, Freedom — Zan, Zendegi, Azadi,” Netanyahu continued, echoing the slogan of anti-government Iranian protests.
