President Barzani Receives Halabja Support Council Delegation, Affirms Ongoing Backing
He emphasized that the status of Halabja as a province is symbolic, and it can't be compared to the suffering of the Halabja people. President Barzani added that the province's suffering and heroism cannot be forgotten or measured.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — President Masoud Barzani on Saturday, received members of the Halabja Provincial Support Council at his office in Pirmam, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to supporting the province and its people.
At the start of the meeting, the visiting delegation conveyed the gratitude and appreciation of Halabja’s citizens for President Barzani’s continuous efforts to preserve and promote the status of the province. They also expressed thanks to the Kurdistan Region Presidency, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the Kurdistan Parliament, and the Region’s representatives in Baghdad for their joint, serious efforts to safeguard Halabja’s rights and development.
The delegation urged President Barzani to continue his support and to help provide additional public services to Halabja through the institutions of the Kurdistan Region.
President Barzani warmly welcomed the delegation and praised the province’s historical significance and its sacrifices. He emphasized that the status of Halabja as a province is symbolic, and it can't be compared to the suffering of the Halabja people. President Barzani added that the province's suffering and heroism cannot be forgotten or measured.
He further stated with pride that he considers himself an honorary member of the Halabja Support Council and underscored that the Region’s institutions have a responsibility to serve Halabja in every way possible, within their capacity.
In the meeting, President Barzani explained the political situation and relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Iraqi Government.
