Iran’s Inflation Hits 24-Month High as Point-to-Point Rate Surges to 41.2%
The annual inflation rate in July was 35.3 percent, an increase of 0.8 percent from June, the highest since August 2024.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iran's annual inflation rate rose to 35.3 percent in July, up from 41.2 percent in the same month last year, according to the Statistical Center of Iran.
Point-to-point inflation reached 41.2 percent in July, after remaining in the 30 percent range for 18 months, marking the highest level in 24 months, as reported by the Statistical Center of Iran.
Point-to-point inflation measures the change in the price of food and services at the end of each month compared to the same month in the previous year.
The report indicated that Iranian households purchased an unchanged basket of goods and services that was 41.2 percent more expensive in July than the previous year.

Annual inflation is defined as the percentage change in the average consumer price index from one year to the next, comparing the 12 months leading up to each month with the same period in the previous year.
The Statistical Center of Iran also released monthly inflation rates, noting that overall prices rose by 3.5 percent in July, while the inflation rate for July was 2.2 percent, which had reached 3.3 percent in June.
In Iran, social classes are divided into 10 categories based on income. According to the statistics center, the annual inflation rate in July for different sectors ranged from 35 percent to 35.6 percent, indicating a difference of 0.6 percent in inflation across these sectors for the month.
