US Sanctions International Network for Supplying Iran’s Military Drone Program
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated five entities and one individual based in Iran, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan for facilitating the procurement of sensitive technology on behalf of the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA).

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The United States Department of the Treasury announced on Thursday a new wave of sanctions targeting a network of companies and an individual involved in supporting Iran’s military drone production.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated five entities and one individual based in Iran, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan for facilitating the procurement of sensitive technology on behalf of the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA). HESA, a state-owned subsidiary of Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, is responsible for producing military aircraft and the Ababil-series unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which have been used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Treasury stated that the sanctions are part of the U.S. government's broader efforts to curb Tehran’s access to both conventional and asymmetric weapons, in line with National Security Presidential Memorandum 2.
The latest action underscores Washington’s commitment to countering Iran’s military expansion and protecting regional and international security by cutting off illicit supply chains supporting the country’s drone program.
On Wednesday, the US announced a sweeping new sanctions package against Iran, marking the largest Iran-related measure since 2018. The sanctions target more than 50 individuals, entities, and a vast fleet of vessels allegedly tied to a senior official in Tehran’s government.
