KDP-Syria Hails KDP's 80th Anniversary as "Twin Birth of Blessing and Hope" for the Kurdish People

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria sent a congratulatory message on Sunday, August 16, 2026, to KDP President Masoud Barzani and the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, marking the 80th anniversary of the KDP's founding and the birthday of President Barzani, which fall on the same date.

The message, issued from Qamishlo, was addressed directly to Masoud Barzani, described as the "respected struggling president," and to the members of the KDP's Political Bureau, opening with a salutation of struggle paired with expressions of the highest esteem and respect.

A Twin Birth of Blessing and Hope

The KDP-Syria Political Bureau described the coincidence of the KDP's founding anniversary with President Barzani's birthday as carrying deep symbolic meaning that goes beyond a simple calendar coincidence. "It is as if it were the birth of twins of blessing and hope," the message said, "bringing together the birth of a party that has carried the banner of the Kurds and Kurdistan for long decades, and the birth of a leader whose name has become inseparable from struggle, pride, and the defense of his people's will and rights."

The message praised the KDP as having been, across eight decades, a school of struggle and a towering fortress of the Kurdish liberation movement, one that offered generations of martyrs and sacrifices in the cause of the Kurdish people's freedom and dignity, remaining faithful to the immortal Barzani path and committed to the Kurdish people's right to freedom, dignity, partnership, and safe life in their homeland.
