ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Kurdistan Democratic Party's Deputy President Nechirvan Barzani issued a landmark message on Sunday marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, honoring the immortal Mustafa Barzani and all the heroes, revolutionaries, and Peshmerga who gave their lives for Kurdistan's freedom, and pledging the party's continued commitment to protecting constitutional achievements and building a better future for the Kurdish people.

"We bow our heads in reverence before the pure souls of the martyrs and send our salutations to their proud families."

Born From the Heart of the Kurdish People's Dreams

Nechirvan Barzani placed the KDP's founding in the broadest possible historical context, describing it as a party born more than eight decades ago from within the dreams and aspirations of the Kurdish people, as a historical necessity to lead the Kurdistan liberation movement toward freedom. He emphasized that after eight decades filled with sacrifice and great achievement, the party continues today with the same determination and historical responsibility.

"The party was born more than eighty years ago as a historical necessity from within the dreams and aspirations of the Kurdish people, to lead the Kurdistan liberation movement toward freedom," he wrote. "Today, after eight decades full of sacrifice and great achievement, it continues with the same determination and historical responsibility to protect constitutional achievements and realize a better future for the people of Kurdistan."

Congratulations to President Barzani, the Peshmerga, and All of Kurdistan

Nechirvan Barzani extended his congratulations on the occasion to President Masoud Barzani and the party's leadership, organs, cadres, members, supporters, and loyal popular base, as well as to the proud families of martyrs and all the people of Kurdistan, renewing at this historic milestone a strong pledge of continued work and effort in the service of Kurdistan's highest national goals.

A National Responsibility: Unity, Coexistence, and Collective Progress

A central theme of Nechirvan Barzani's message was the KDP's national responsibility as the vanguard and dynamic force for broadening cohesion, coexistence, and the gathering of the Kurdish people across all their components. He described the party as always ready to be at the forefront of overcoming challenges and turning them into opportunities to serve the homeland.

"On this blessed anniversary, we emphasize the party's national responsibility as a pioneer and dynamic force for broadening cohesion, coexistence, and the gathering of the Kurdish people with all their components," he wrote. "The party must always be at the forefront of overcoming challenges and turning them into opportunities to serve the homeland."

Renewal, Institutionalization, and Good Governance

Nechirvan Barzani used the anniversary to issue a forward-looking call for institutional renewal, emphasizing that protecting the party's proud legacy requires a constant process of modernization in line with the spirit of the times and contemporary developments. He called for building confidence in institutionalization and advancing good governance so that the party remains, as it has always been, the primary guarantee of the Kurdish people's legitimate rights.

"To protect this caravan full of pride, we must constantly renew ourselves in line with the spirit of the times and contemporary developments, and build confidence in institutionalization and the advancement of good governance, so that the party remains, as always, the trust and primary guarantee of the legitimate rights of the people of Kurdistan," he wrote.

He closed his message with a salutation to August 16 and a tribute to the pure souls of Kurdistan's martyrs.
