DEM Party Co-Chair Condemns Drone Attack on PM Barzani’s Office
“Such attacks are dangerous and perpetually fuel war and violence in the region,” Bakırhan said, urging the Iraqi federal government in Baghdad to promptly clarify the circumstances of the incident and disclose the facts surrounding the attack.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — DEM Party co-chair Tuncer Bakırhan strongly condemned Monday’s drone attack on the office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani during a phone call with Barzani, the party’s official X account said.
Bakırhan expressed hope that such incidents would not recur and affect either the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) or the people of the Kurdistan Region. He also reaffirmed the DEM Party’s unwavering support for the KRG and the people of the region.
“Such attacks are dangerous and perpetually fuel war and violence in the region,” Bakırhan said, urging the Iraqi federal government in Baghdad to promptly clarify the circumstances of the incident and disclose the facts surrounding the attack.
Earlier Monday, the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) said two Iranian-made Hadid-110 explosive drones targeted Barzani’s private office and the residence of the head of the Kurdistan Region’s Security and Intelligence Agency (Parastin).
No casualties were reported, while investigations were underway to determine the extent of the damage.
