President Barzani, Saladin Council Discuss Coordination, Iraq’s Political and Administrative Issues
President Barzani reiterated that the Iraqi Constitution provides an appropriate roadmap for resolving the country’s outstanding issues and disputes.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani met with the president and members of the Saladin Provincial Council on Monday, in Pirmam district, Erbil.
According to the Barzani Headquarters, the delegation congratulated President Barzani on the 80th anniversary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), praising his role in the Kurdish struggle and the country’s history, as well as his contributions to building a new Iraq.
The delegation also thanked President Barzani for opening the Kurdistan Region’s doors to displaced people during the ISIS attacks, describing the move as a prominent example of humanitarianism, fraternity, and responsibility.
The delegation praised the sacrifices of the Peshmerga forces and the Region’s institutions in combating terrorism and maintaining stability and security. It also called for greater coordination between Saladin’s administrative units and those of the Kurdistan Region to benefit from the Region’s administrative and development experience.
President Barzani welcomed the delegation and praised the coordination and joint efforts among Saladin’s diverse ethnic and religious communities. He gave an overview of the Kurdistan Region’s liberation movement, emphasizing fraternity, unity, and coexistence among Iraq’s different communities.
He said that, fortunately, Iraq’s former regimes had failed to turn political disputes between the Kurdish people and successive Iraqi governments into conflicts among the country’s peoples.
Addressing Iraq’s post-2003 political situation, President Barzani reiterated that the Iraqi Constitution provides an appropriate roadmap for resolving the country’s outstanding issues and disputes.
The meeting also included a discussion of political, security, and administrative developments in the delegation members’ areas. The attendees raised questions and shared observations, which President Barzani addressed with explanations and clarifications.
