UAE Condemns Iranian Attacks on Kurdistan Region After 10 Drones Intercepted Over Erbil
The UAE Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a “flagrant violation” of the sovereignty of the targeted countries and a threat to their security and stability.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region, expressing solidarity with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) following an overnight wave of attacks on Erbil.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that it condemned “in the strongest terms” the Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq with missiles and drones.
The statement came after the Kurdistan Region’s Counterterrorism Directorate said US-led coalition forces intercepted and destroyed 10 suicide drones over Erbil province early Wednesday.
According to the Counterterrorism Directorate, the drones were intercepted between 1:13 a.m. and 3:31 a.m. as they entered Erbil’s airspace. The attacks caused several loud explosions across the city, with defensive systems engaging incoming drones, particularly around Erbil International Airport.
“Fortunately, there were no casualties,” the Counterterrorism Directorate said.

It also reaffirmed the UAE’s “full solidarity” with Iraq and the government of the Kurdistan Region, stressing its support for measures aimed at safeguarding their security and stability.
