Iraqi Prime Minister Offers Condolences to President Barzani

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi offered condolences to President Masoud Barzani following the passing of Abdulwahid Ibrahim Sheikh Abdulsalam Barzani, the eldest member of the wider Barzani family.
The Iraqi Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement on Saturday that Zaidi sent a condolence message to President Barzani expressing profound grief and sympathy over the loss.
According to the statement, the prime minister prayed that Almighty God would embrace the deceased in His mercy and forgiveness and grant patience and solace to his family, relatives and loved ones.
President Barzani announced the late Abdulwahid Ibrahim's passing on Friday, describing him as a respected senior member of the family known for piety, devotion to God and benevolence.
He was a grandson of Sheikh Abdulsalam Barzani, the prominent religious and national figure.
Condolences From Across Iraq
Iraq's Prime Minister's message adds to a growing number of condolences from senior Iraqi political figures following Abdulwahid Barzani's passing.
Ammar al-Hakim, leader of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement, expressed sympathy to President Barzani, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
Former Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Ayad Allawi, Osama al-Nujaifi, Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, Deputy Parliament Speaker Farhad Atrushi and the Azm Alliance have also issued condolence messages.
Their statements have expressed sympathy with the Barzani family and offered prayers for the deceased.
Adnan Dirjal, Iraq's former sports minister and former president of the Iraqi Football Association, has likewise offered condolences.

Funeral to Be Held in Barzan
Barzani Headquarters announced Saturday that Abdulwahid Ibrahim Sheikh Abdulsalam Barzani's funeral and the first day of condolences will be held in Barzan on Sunday, Sept. 6.
The second and third days of condolences will be held in Pirmam on Monday, Sept. 7, and Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Barzan holds deep historical significance for the Barzani family and the Kurdish national movement and will serve as the main location for Sunday's funeral ceremonies.
President Barzani's announcement emphasized Abdulwahid's standing within the family and described his life as one marked by faith, benevolence and service.
Prime Minister Zaidi's message now places Iraq's head of government among the growing number of senior political figures who have publicly expressed sympathy to President Barzani and the family ahead of the funeral.
