Iran Warns US Over Attacks as Officials Cite Midterm Election Results
Iran’s IRGC adviser and Foreign Ministry spokesman respond to US midterm election results, warning Washington that attacking Iran will only bring defeat.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Two senior Iranian voices turned to the outcome of the US midterm elections with sharp warnings for Washington. An adviser to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) cautioned that any Gulf state providing military bases for an attack on Iran would face a response reaching beyond the United States, while the Foreign Ministry spokesman said that attacking Iran will never bring victory.
Hamidreza Moghaddam Far, adviser to the IRGC commander-in-chief for media affairs, warned on Wednesday that countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain would be answered by Tehran in a manner that includes them and other places, should they provide military bases to the US for attacking Iran.
Moghaddam Far said Iran now deals with any American or Israeli action using a military doctrine and technology that are new and different from the past.
He added that Iran’s people and officials see no fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats, and that internal political changes in the US carry no great weight in Iran’s policies.
He described the results of the US elections as a referendum on the war against Iran. The defeat of the party of US President Donald Trump, he said, reflects America’s defeat in that war.
The adviser also spoke of a “third revolution” that he said is taking shape to accelerate the expulsion of the US from the region.
He stressed that America is trying to flee the region because it knows it will no longer have the chance to revive its bases. Fear of Iran’s missiles, he said, has kept American warships 400 to 500 kilometers away from the Gulf.
Moghaddam Far further stated that a “fourth revolution,” meaning the collapse of the “American empire,” will come in the near future, and that America’s situation has reached a stage from which there is no return.
On military losses, he claimed that Iran has shot down advanced American aircraft and destroyed more than 42 planes, including F-35 jets and refueling aircraft.
He concluded by repeating that Iran’s response to any American or Israeli attack will not be limited and will become wider, particularly if countries such as the UAE and Bahrain allow their bases to be used for carrying out attacks.
Foreign Ministry: “Attacking Iran brings defeat”
In a separate statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei pointed to the message of the American people in the US midterm elections for Congress, and to what he described as Washington’s miscalculations in dealing with Iran.
He said attacking Iran will not achieve victory and that America has no option but to recognize that Iran cannot be intimidated by threats or subdued by aggression, said Baghaei on Wednesday.
Baghaei wrote on the platform X on Wednesday that arrogance and conceit are the prelude to downfall. He added that America’s ambitions, by placing itself in the service of a deceitful regime, drove it to launch an unlawful and criminal aggression against Iran.
Addressing American officials, Baghaei said their calculations had failed, their assumptions had collapsed, and their strategic mistakes had been exposed one after another, because they did not truly know Iran and did not correctly grasp the resilience, will, and national pride of Iranians.
He noted that the American people had sent them a clear message. He warned that ignoring the facts, denying the lessons of history, and insisting on continuing this dangerous path would lead to consequences of this great miscalculation that go far beyond what they have seen so far.
Baghaei closed his post with a direct message: “Repeat these words so that you can no longer ignore their meaning, and hear them again and again until you finally grasp the truth within them: Attacking Iran does not bring you victory, but defeat. Iran is not a country that can be understood through arrogance and condescension, intimidated by threats, or subdued by aggression.”
He added that Nov. 4 also coincides with “13 Aban,” marked in Iran as the National Day of Confronting Global Arrogance.
