ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Ali Bagheri, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, is scheduled to arrive in Baghdad on Thursday. During his visit, he will have meetings with the Iraqi president, prime minister, speaker of parliament, and other senior officials, according to the Iranian news agency ISNA.

Bagheri will then proceed to Erbil on Friday, where he will meet with senior officials from the Kurdistan Region.

He has been leading the ministry for the past three weeks, following the tragic passing of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Iran's former President Ebrahim Raisi and his team were killed when their helicopter crashed in East Azerbaijan Province. The tragic accident occurred due to bad weather conditions. Despite an exhaustive 18-hour search, the wreckage of the helicopter was eventually discovered, confirming the loss of all nine passengers, including the Iranian Foreign Minister.
