Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani meets new US Consul General to Kurdistan Region
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Wednesday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Steve Bitner, the newly appointed US Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, in a meeting where both leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening ties between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.
Kurdistan Region President Barzani warmly welcomed Consul Bitner and congratulated him on assuming his new role, emphasizing the Kurdistan Region's desire to enhance joint cooperation and relations with the United States.
Kurdistan Region President Barzani also took the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to Mark Stroh, the outgoing US Consul General, who was also present at the meeting. The President thanked Stroh for his efforts and wished him continued success in his future endeavors.
In response, Stroh expressed his appreciation for the support and cooperation he received from the authorities in the Kurdistan Region, which he said contributed significantly to the success of his mission.
During the meeting, Consul General Bitner reaffirmed the United States' commitment to continued support, partnership, and alliance with both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic and strategic relations.
