KDP President Masoud Barzani Meets with New US Consul General in Erbil

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - President Masoud Barzani received Steve Bitner, the newly appointed US Consul General in Erbil, on Thursday in Pirmam.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Mark Stroh, the former US Consul General in Erbil, President Barzani welcomed Consul General Bitner and expressed his best wishes for success in his new role.

President Barzani took the opportunity to commend former Consul General Stroh for his efforts in strengthening and expanding the coordination between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.

In his remarks, President Barzani expressed gratitude to the American people and government for their continued support of the Kurdish people, particularly highlighting the establishment of a no-fly zone over Kurdistan following the Kurdish uprising in 1991 and the overthrow of the former Iraqi regime in 2003, as well as ongoing support in the fight against terrorism.
