Kurdistan Region PM returns to Erbil

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the Prime Minister held a series of meetings with senior officials from the US, Europe, the United Nations, Turkey, and Arab countries.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, on Sunday evening arrived in Erbil, after concluding an official visit to the State of Qatar and participating in the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

During his visit to Qatar, the Prime Minister held meetings in the capital, Doha, with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister, and senior officials in the country.

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the Prime Minister held a series of meetings with senior officials from the US, Europe, the United Nations, Turkey, and Arab countries.

The premier with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met the Secretary-General of the United Nations and a high-ranking delegation from the US Congress.

Barzani also held separate meetings with his Polish and Lebanese counterparts, as well as the Saudi Foreign Minister, the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Italian and Turkish Ministers of Defense, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and German representatives.

The discussions focused on the general situation and the political process in Iraq, in addition to discussing ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and other countries.

In a statement to the media prior to his return to Erbil, the Prime Minister indicated that during his meetings, he highlighted the Kurdistan Region's vision on most of the current issues in the region, especially those of interest to the Kurdistan Region, and reiterated that Erbil will defend its constitutional rights.
