5 ISIS members were killed in Iraqi airstrikes on Kirkuk
Iraqi counter-terrorism forces on the ground tracked these militants before the strikes and were helped by the US-led coalition, according to Rasool.
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Five ISIS militants, including two of its senior members, were killed in Iraqi airstrikes on the group’s hideouts in Kirkuk province on Wednesday, according to a top security official.
The Iraqi military announced on Wednesday that its air force’s F-16s destroyed two ISIS hideouts in remote areas of Qushqaya in the Dibis district of the oil-rich northwestern province.
These strikes killed five members of the group, including two leaders, according to Yehia Rasool, the spokesperson for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief.

“The bodies of the terrorists were found,” he said.
“Our ISF [Iraqi Security Forces] partners are combining capabilities to create & deliver a competent & capable force ready to deter any threat & keep Iraq safe,” the international coalition tweeted on Wednesday following the strike.

Earlier this month, an Iraqi airstrike killed a top ISIS leader in western Anbar province.
ISIS was territorially defeated in Iraq in 2017, three years after it infamously conquered one-third of the country. However, according to security experts, it is still capable of launching hit-and-run attacks on civilian and military targets from its remote hideouts in parts of the country’s north and east.
