ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Erbil Sewerage Directorate has commenced the second phase of a major project aimed at addressing water stagnation issues on the 150-meter road and the Erbil-Shaqlawa road.

This phase is expected to significantly alleviate flooding problems in the area.

Zardasht Sarsam, the director of Erbil Sewerage, announced that the ongoing project spans three kilometers and includes a 3x3 sewerage system. "Once completed, this project will resolve the persistent flooding issues behind the 150-meter street," Sarsam stated.

The project route runs through the 150-meter street, passes the village of Kalakin on the Erbil-Pirmam road, and extends to Pirzin. It involves the construction of four boxes, each 60 meters in length, to divert water from the right side of the street to the left, thereby reducing water stagnation.

The second phase of the project, with a budget of four billion dinars, is slated for completion within three months. The cost of both phases of this strategic road project is 8 billion dinars.
