Weather Forecast: Rainstorms, cooler temperatures ahead for Iraq
In the Kurdistan Region, temperatures will reach highs of 32 degrees Celsius in Dohuk, Erbil, and Sulaimani, and 35 degrees Celsius in Kirkuk.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iraqi Meteorological Authority released its latest forecast on Friday, predicting rain, thunderstorms, and a slight drop in temperatures in the coming days.
According to the Weather Forecasting Department of the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring, Sunday's weather will be mostly clear with some cloud cover.
A slight dip in temperatures is expected across the country. The forecast further detailed that maximum temperatures on Sunday will be 38 degrees Celsius in Baghdad, Diyala, Babylon, and Diwaniyah.
In the Kurdistan Region, temperatures will reach highs of 32 degrees Celsius in Dohuk, Erbil, and Sulaimani, and 35 degrees Celsius in Kirkuk.
The temperatures will reach highs of 34 degrees Celsius in Nineveh.
The central and southern areas will experience temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius in Salah al-Din and Anbar, 39 degrees Celsius in Karbala, Najaf, Muthanna, and Wasit, and 40 degrees Celsius in Maysan, Dhi Qar, and Basra.
On Monday, mostly clear skies with occasional cloud cover are anticipated throughout the country. A minor rise in temperatures is likely in the northern areas, while the central and southern regions will see temperatures similar to those on Sunday.
Moving into Tuesday, clear conditions are expected in the central region. The northern and southern regions will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with nighttime rain showers in the north, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms.
A slight increase in temperatures is projected across the country.
Finally, on Wednesday, a mix of clear skies in the central and southern areas and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions in the northern region is expected. Thunderstorms are also predicted in the north, with a slight decrease in temperatures across all regions.
Winds will be active during the day, reaching speeds of 30-40 kilometers per hour and possibly causing dust storms in certain locations.
