ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday inaugurates the Kavin Farm, a major livestock and dairy project in Duhok province.

With a total cost of $80 million, Kavin Farm is the largest of its kind in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. The project covers an expansive 3,000 acres of land and is expected to create 2,500 jobs.

Haval Sadiq, the director general of investment in Duhok, told Kurdistan24 that the farm has the capacity to produce a substantial 120,000 liters of milk per day.

This significant output aims to reduce the region's reliance on imported dairy products and promote local production.

Prime Minister Barzani laid the foundation stone for Kavin Farm in June 2022, and the project was successfully completed within two years and three months.

The farm's green area spans over 125,000 square meters, featuring approximately 25,000 trees.
