ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Despite recent regional unrest, Qatar Airways flights to Erbil International Airport remain unaffected, according to Ahmed Hoshyar, the airport’s director.

Speaking to Kurdistan 24 on Thursday, Hoshyar confirmed that Qatar Airways flights have not been suspended and continue to operate daily. He clarified that the airline had only requested a change in its flight schedule for the winter season. Under the revised timetable, flights will arrive at Erbil International Airport daily at 7:00 a.m. and depart at 8:15 a.m.

“Qatar Airways is permitted to operate two flights within a 24-hour period, and it continues to maintain one flight daily to Erbil,” Hoshyar explained.

The confirmation comes after Qatar Airways announced a "temporary" suspension of flights to Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon due to escalating unrest in the Middle East, citing passenger safety as a top priority. However, flights to the Kurdistan Region’s capital, Erbil, remain unaffected by this decision.

Qatar Airways continues to serve as a key carrier connecting Erbil with international destinations, ensuring safe and reliable travel during a time of heightened tension in the region.
