ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Region Presidency has expressed deep concern over the ongoing developments in Syria, calling for dialogue among all parties to achieve a peaceful resolution that ensures justice, equality, and the active participation of all Syrian communities, including the Kurdish people, in shaping the nation’s future.

In a statement released on Saturday, the presidency emphasized its commitment to fostering peace and stability in Syria while opposing any actions that could intensify regional tensions. The statement underscored the importance of protecting security and the interests of all communities in the region.

“We urge all involved parties to engage in dialogue and pursue a peaceful resolution that guarantees justice and equality for all communities in Syria, including the Kurdish people, while ensuring their meaningful involvement in determining the country’s future,” the statement read.

The presidency reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s dedication to maintaining harmonious relations within Iraq and strengthening regional and international cooperation to promote stability in Syria.

Amid rapidly evolving circumstances, the Kurdistan Region Presidency called on the global community and neighboring nations to intensify efforts toward achieving a stable future for Syria. “We stress the necessity of consolidating both international and regional initiatives to secure a stable future for Syria. We urge the global community and neighboring nations to actively participate in seeking a peaceful resolution,” the statement added.

The Kurdistan Region reiterated its support for the Syrian people’s aspirations for peace and freedom, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to resolve the conflict and build a secure and equitable future for the war-torn nation.

Syrian insurgent forces, including Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), have gained control of significant portions of Syrian territory. On Sunday, these forces captured Damascus, leading to the departure of President Bashar al-Assad from the country.
