ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to arrive in Iraq on Sunday for an official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, focusing on security, economic partnerships, and regional developments.
Strengthening Bilateral Security Coordination
As part of his second visit to Iraq since assuming office in June 2023, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan seeks to strengthen ties between Ankara and Baghdad, especially in the areas of security and intelligence coordination.
A key focus of the discussions will be strategies to tackle the shared security challenges posed by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which both countries have identified as a considerable threat.
