President Masoud Barzani reaffirms support for Christian community in meeting with Chaldean American delegation

The delegation expressed deep appreciation for President Barzani’s longstanding efforts to protect diverse communities and promote peaceful coexistence in the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani welcomed a delegation from the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce, led by Martin Manna, on Monday. During the meeting, President Barzani emphasized the essential role of Christians in the country and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting their rights and demands, particularly in Nineveh province, according to a statement from Barzani Headquarters.

The delegation expressed deep appreciation for President Barzani’s longstanding efforts to protect diverse communities and promote peaceful coexistence in the Kurdistan Region. They praised his advocacy for encouraging Christians to remain in their homeland, rather than emigrate, and called on him to continue supporting their rights and aspirations.

President Barzani, in turn, thanked the delegation for their visit and reiterated his unwavering support for Iraq’s Christian community. He assured them that their contributions to the country are invaluable and pledged to continue backing their demands, not only in Nineveh province but across Iraq.

The meeting underscored President Barzani’s ongoing commitment to fostering unity and ensuring that all religious and ethnic groups feel secure and respected in their homeland.
