PM Barzani Meets US Congressman Brian Mast, Discusses Strengthening Ties

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met on Tuesday with Congressman Brian Mast, Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.
In a statement released by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the meeting emphasized mutual appreciation and strategic cooperation. Congressman Mast expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by the Peshmerga forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism, describing the Kurdistan Region as a key U.S. ally in the Middle East.
Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing ties, particularly in the fields of investment and energy. They also highlighted the significance of recent agreements between the KRG and U.S.-based companies HKN Energy and WesternZagros, noting the potential benefits for economic growth and regional stability.
