Iraq and Saudi Arabia Call for Enhanced Regional Coordination Amid Escalating Tensions

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a phone call on Saturday, with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to discuss the recent regional escalation following Israeli military strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the ministry’s statement, the two officials reviewed the unfolding security developments across the region, particularly in light of the Israeli attacks and their potential implications for regional peace and stability.

The ministers also exchanged views on the internal situation in Iran and assessed international reactions to the ongoing escalation.

Both sides underscored the importance of supporting diplomatic efforts and sustaining the negotiation process surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. They emphasized the need to ensure that dialogue and meetings on this critical dossier continue without interruption.

In addition, the two foreign ministers stressed the necessity of strengthening regional coordination and reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to close cooperation in addressing shared challenges. They also highlighted the importance of joint efforts to safeguard the security and stability of the broader Middle East.
