ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday expressed deep concern over rising regional tensions after Iran launched a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar.

In an official statement, the ministry warned that the latest escalation could ignite a “broader confrontation” in the Middle East, stressing that Iraq had repeatedly cautioned against the involvement of additional actors in the conflict.

“The region stands at a dangerous crossroads,” the statement read. “The continued escalation and expansion of hostilities risk plunging the entire region into deeper instability and conflict.”

Iraq urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize diplomatic solutions to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
