ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that it had conducted a significant strike against the Yemeni port of Hodeida, targeting what it identified as military assets belonging to the Houthi regime, while a Houthi official confirmed the attack destroyed a key piece of recently rebuilt infrastructure at the strategic site.

The Israeli military detailed the operation in a statement posted on the social media platform X, signaling a continued and decisive posture against perceived threats in the region.

"STRUCK: Military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime at the Hodeida port," the IDF post began, using its official designation for the ruling group in Sanaa.

The statement went on to list the specific targets of the strike, providing a clear picture of the operation's objectives. According to the IDF, the targets included: "Engineering vehicles, Fuel containers, Naval vessels, and Iranian smuggled weapons."

Concluding its announcement, the Israeli military issued a broad declaration of its operational policy, stating, "The IDF will continue to act decisively against threats—anytime, anywhere."

Confirmation of the Israeli strike came from both sides of the conflict. In a separate statement, the Israeli army affirmed that it had "struck a number of targets in Hodeida," further specifying that these included "military infrastructure and naval vessels used for military purposes."

Meanwhile, a security official with Yemen's Houthi group corroborated that an Israeli strike had hit the port city on Monday. Speaking to the news agency AFP, the official, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive matters, provided details on the specific damage inflicted.

"The bombing destroyed the port's dock, which had been rebuilt following previous strikes," the official stated. This comment indicates that the targeted infrastructure had only recently been repaired from damage sustained in earlier, unspecified attacks, highlighting the recurring nature of strikes on the vital port facility.
