ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported Thursday that six members of the Iranian Army’s naval forces were killed in US attacks during renewed fighting earlier this week.

The six personnel were killed during a wave of US strikes on Tuesday, although Tasnim did not specify where the deaths occurred.

“During the criminal attacks carried out by the US terrorist army two nights ago on September 1 in the south of the country, six members of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Navy were martyred,” Tasnim reported.

At least 19 people were killed across Iran on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Iranian official media, following extensive US bombardment.

Iranian media reported that seven people were killed in southwestern Khuzestan province, while four members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in Kermanshah province.

Three paramilitary personnel were also reported killed on Lavan Island in the Gulf, while another was killed in Fars province.

Iranian officials and media additionally blamed US strikes for the deaths of four people attending a wedding in Hormozgan province.

It was not immediately clear whether the six naval personnel reported by Tasnim were among the seven people previously reported killed in Khuzestan.
