PDK is a Kurdish political party in Iranian Kurdistan (Rojhelat) that seeks to achieve Kurdish national rights within a democratic and federal republic of Iran.
The party split from PDKI in 2006.
PDK was accepted as a full member of the Socialist International at its November 2015 Council meeting held in Luanda, Angola. The leader of the party is Khalid Azizi.
Recently, both PDK and PDKI held meetings aiming to continue their resistance against the Tehran government and put efforts to unite the two parties.
Iran has often bombarded its border with the Kurdistan Region wounding civilians and inflicting heavy damages to agricultural fields and the environment.
