VIDEO: IS turns basement of civilian's home into pool of blood

MOSUL, Iraq (Kurdistan24) – Following the liberation of eastern Mosul from the so-called Islamic State (IS), more of the extremist group’s crimes are uncovered.
Kurdistan24 correspondent Hemin Dallo, accompanied with residents of the Faisaliya neighborhood, explored a house IS had used as a bomb and weapons storage.
In the basement of the house, IS shot people to death which left a pool of blood in the area.
“[IS] was executing and beheading people here in the basement and then transferring the bodies to the east side of Mosul to throw away into a valley,” revealed one of the residents.
A civilian living next door to the house told Kurdistan24 people in the neighborhood knew there was something going on in the house.
The civilian added there were loud noises from the home, but nobody dared approach the area.
IS occupied Mosul in June 2014 and shortly expanded to other parts of Iraq.
Since then, the group has lost most of the territory they once controlled.
On Oct. 17, 2016, Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces launched the military operation to liberate Mosul from the insurgent group.
The forces have since retaken half of the city while the rest remains under the control of IS.
Iraqi forces are preparing to launch the second phase of the offensive to liberate the western part of the city.
