Iran, Turkey, Russia FMs to meet in Moscow to discuss Syria
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with both his Iranian and Turkish counterparts in Moscow on Saturday to discuss the situation in Syria and Iran's nuclear agreement, according to foreign ministry statements from two of the countries.

“Naturally, there will be an exchange of views on current regional and international issues, including the increasingly acute situation around the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iran nuclear program,” the Interfax news agency cited Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry also said in a statement that its minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, would meet his Russia's Lavrov, and Iran’s Javad Zarif in Moscow to discuss cooperation within the framework of the Astana mechanism.
“The meeting will focus on all aspects of the cooperation carried out within the framework of the Astana mechanism and elaborate on the steps that could be taken from now on,” the statement reads.
The Astana peace talks began on Jan. 2017 with the stated aim of ending violence and improving humanitarian efforts situation in war-torn Syria.
Syria has been suffering from a vicious civil war that began in 2011. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and millions displaced as a result of the conflict, according to the UN.
On Thursday, a statement made by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) warned that, without increased international support, it will not be able to provide critical assistance to some 250,000 Syrian refugees it now hosts.
