Turkey to implement new visa measures for Iraqi citizens in September
The announcement was made during a joint press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Thursday.
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that new visa procedures for Iraqi citizens will be introduced starting early September.
The announcement was made during a joint press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Thursday.
Fidan stated that the new visa measures are based on previous agreements between the two countries.
Specifically, in July, both governments agreed to lift visa requirements for their citizens under the age of 15 and over the age of 50.
Omar Barzanji, Iraq's Deputy Foreign Minister, previously confirmed the agreement with Turkey, stating on July 10, 2024, "We have reached an agreement with the Turkish Foreign Ministry to lift visas for people under the age of 15 and those over the age of 50."
Barzanji also noted that the visa process would remain unchanged for individuals outside these age groups.
