KRG Education Minister highlights progress, commitment to education
"We have digitized the entire education sector, modified and changed the curricula, and built more than 150 schools with plans for 200 more," he stated.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Education, Alan Hama Saeed, underscored the significant strides made in the education sector during a speech at the inauguration of a new school in Shaqlawa district on Thursday.
Minister Saeed proudly announced the complete digitalization of the education sector, alongside curriculum revisions and substantial infrastructure development.
"We have digitized the entire education sector, modified and changed the curricula, and built more than 150 schools with plans for 200 more," he stated.
Furthermore, 1,650 schools have been renovated, 468 new classrooms constructed, and all schools in Kurdistan underwent evaluations in 2022 and 2023, resulting in improved standards for government schools.
These accomplishments, according to Saeed, fulfill the promises made by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in 2019.
The Barzani Charity Foundation's efforts to renovate 50 schools and convert 74 to solar power were also highlighted, showcasing commitment even amidst economic challenges, conflict, and the pandemic.
Saeed acknowledged existing shortcomings and needs, emphasizing the government's dedication to identifying and addressing them. He stated, "None of the obstacles stopped us."
Books have been prepared for students, 58,000 chairs purchased, and schools worth 100 billion dinars acquired.
The Minister concluded by reiterating the government's unwavering dedication to education, transforming promises into tangible results.
