KRG signs landmark agreement with Jordan to boost agricultural trade
The memorandum, signed under the supervision of Prime Minister Barzani, will enable the export of the Kurdistan Region's agricultural products, including potatoes, to Jordan.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Sunday, the Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani announced the signing of a significant memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture.
In a post on social network X, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating, "I am pleased that we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture of Jordan today."
"From today, a new market will be opened to our farmers," the post continued.
The memorandum, signed under the supervision of Prime Minister Barzani, will enable the export of the Kurdistan Region's agricultural products, including potatoes, to Jordan.
This agreement marks a new chapter in the agricultural trade between the two regions.
Begard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources for the KRG, highlighted the significance of the memorandum, which consists of 10 articles encompassing 13 key points.
These points outline the cooperative efforts in both plant and poultry sectors within the Kurdistan Region's food industry.
Minister Talabani emphasized that this agreement represents a new experience for the Kurdistan Region, particularly during the five-year tenure of the ninth KRG cabinet.
The Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are bound together by a shared history and friendship.
