ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Monday that 120,000 civil servants will receive their July salaries through the MyAccount initiative. This includes 103,000 civilian employees and 17,000 members of the Peshmerga forces.

The Ministry revealed that payments are being facilitated through 193 ATMs in 63 locations across the Kurdistan Region. As part of the financial inclusion program, MyAccount aims to provide public sector workers with secure and convenient access to their salaries.

According to KRG data, over 400,000 employees have registered for the MyAccount initiative, which provides a modern, digital method of salary disbursement. Currently, 231 ATMs are operational throughout the region, with plans to increase that number to 1,000 by the end of 2024.

So far, eight banks have partnered with the initiative: BBAC, Cihan Bank, RT Bank, Bank of Baghdad, Iraqi Islamic Bank, National Bank of Iraq, Trade Bank of Iraq, and the International Development Bank.

The MyAccount initiative marks a significant step in the KRG's efforts to modernize financial services and enhance access to banking for public sector employees, offering both convenience and improved security for salary transactions.
