ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Hasan Majid, the Head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)'s Faction at the Kirkuk Governorate Council, talked to Kurdistan 24, on Friday, about the KDP faction's visit to Rebwar Taha, the Governor of Kirkuk and Mohammed Hafez, the Speaker of the Council, "it was accordingly, for the socio-political traditions purpose." In a response to an inquiry about the stage that the legal complaint reached in the legal procedure, he stated "we are waiting for the court about the future of this local government that was decided at Rashid Hotel in Baghdad, then after the final decision by the court, we will leave the political decision to our KDP's leadership, and what they see good, we will follow and deal with the situation accordingly"

Majid reaffirmed that today's visit was irrelevant to participating in the local government, in addition, according to the city's position and circumstance, "all the components as well as all the political winners must compose the local government, we see in the hall that nine people are supposed to attend, yet 7 out of the 9 components were out, whom are 3 from the leaderships, 2 from KDP and 2 from Turkmen, we want to return the balance to that ratio" He said.
In term of mediating, to broker also to end conflicts and disagreements, Majid stated, "we, as members of the Governorate Council, do our work on daily basis, but sometimes we hear unwanted incidents at the governor's building, as a moral duty, we felt the necessity of visiting both sides, to stop troubles from getting bigger"
He further added “Kirkuk cannot endure anymore problems, so we have done our role as a mediator,”
