ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - In significant progress for Kurdistan's digital education infrastructure, Minister of Education Alan Hama Saeed announced on Monday the launch of 'E-Assessment,' a pioneering digital service that marks the first implementation of its kind within the region's public sector.
The initiative, developed in strategic partnership with UNICEF and SoftMax Company, signifies a considerable leap forward in Kurdistan's educational digitalization efforts.
"The Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Education is introducing a digital service unprecedented in the public sector," Minister Hama Saeed stated during the official announcement.
According to ministerial directives, the platform will be operational at the start of the second academic term.
The implementation strategy contains an initial rollout across 396 government schools, carefully selected by the Directorate General of Education across various governorates.
Outstandingly, the service will be accessible to both public and private educational institutions.
The E-Assessment platform introduces several key functionalities such as real-time academic performance monitoring, direct parent-school communication channels, access to student evaluation records, digital distribution of weekly schedules, and examination timetable management.
"This service strengthens the vital connection between schools and student guardians," Minister Hama Saeed underlined, stressing the platform's role in improving educational transparency and parental engagement.
The system enables guardians to observe their children's academic progress, access teacher evaluations, and view wide-ranging scheduling information.
This digital initiative aligns with the Kurdistan Regional Government's broader strategy to modernize and digitalize its educational infrastructure through technological integration.
The collaboration with UNICEF and private sector partners reflects an emergent model of public-private partnership in Kurdistan's education sector that has the potential to set a precedent for future digital transformation projects across other governmental departments.
The launch of E-Assessment signifies a noticeable breakthrough in Kurdistan's educational digitalization efforts, positioning the region at the forefront of public sector digital innovation in Iraq.
