Kurdistan Region Implements New Regulations for Food Delivery Companies
According to the Directive issued by KRG's Ministry of Interior, delivery companies are now mandated to prioritize hiring residents of the Kurdistan Region, reinforcing efforts to enhance job opportunities for the local workforce.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Interior has introduced a new directive aimed at regulating food delivery services, imposing stricter compliance measures on delivery companies operating in the region.
The directive, issued on Sunday, and signed by Hemn Merany, Director General of the Diwan at the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Interior, outlines key guidelines that companies must adhere to in order to ensure road safety, environmental responsibility, and employment opportunities for local residents.
According to the directive, all delivery motorcycle drivers must obtain valid motorcycle licenses and register their vehicles within six months of the directive’s issuance.
Companies that fail to comply will be held financially liable for any infractions.
The new rules also hold delivery companies accountable for past violations committed by their drivers, with penalties being enforced based on identifiable company logos.
Companies will be required to clear outstanding fines within one year.
A crucial aspect of the directive is its emphasis on local employment.
