KRG Council of Ministers discuss Kurdistan Region civil servant salaries

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a promising development for the Kurdish people, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani chaired a productive meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers on Wednesday, with Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani in attendance.
The meeting began with a message of celebration, as the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Council, extended warm congratulations to the Kurdish people on the occasion of Newroz and the Kurdish New Year 2725. He expressed hopes for a year filled with happiness and prosperity for the region.
In a decision aimed at easing financial burdens on citizens, the Council approved an extension of the 20% discount on traffic fines until June 30. This measure is intended to support the community and encourage compliance with traffic regulations.
Additionally, the Council took steps to address salary payments for Kurdistan Region civil servants. It directed the KRG to ensure that all employees, whether in permanent or contract-based positions, who have yet to receive their salaries from the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, are provided with their rightful payments.
Another key agenda item was the employment of medical graduates. The Council instructed the Ministries of Health, Finance, and the Service Public Council to coordinate efforts to facilitate job placements for medical graduates. The relevant ministries will present their progress at the next meeting, signaling a proactive approach to improving job opportunities in the healthcare sector.
With these initiatives, the KRG continues to prioritize citizen welfare, economic relief, and job creation, reinforcing its commitment to progress and prosperity in the region.
