Kurdistan 24 Begins New Season
Dr. Mohammed Shukri of the Kurdistan Board of Investment and KDP Political Bureau executive head Fazil Mirani congratulated Kurdistan 24 on its 11th anniversary, praising its honest delivery of national messages and its coverage of the war against ISIS
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Kurdistan 24 Research and Media Institution began a new season on Saturday, marking 11 years since it started broadcasting from Erbil on October 31, 2015, at a decisive moment when the Kurdistan Region and the Peshmerga were fighting a hard war against ISIS. The institution said it stood at the front of the defense effort in that war, protecting the land, people, and national wealth of Kurdistan, and it entered Kurdish journalism at that time. Kurdistan 24 first went on air while Iraq and the Kurdistan Region were under ISIS attack and struggling with a deep financial crisis.
Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, sent a message of congratulations on the anniversary to the channel's director, founders, presenters and employees. Shukri said Kurdistan 24's national and patriotic messages bear witness to the honesty reflected in its work. He praised the staff's tireless effort to deliver accurate and correct information and to cover events, and he wished them continued success in carrying a national and professional message and in serving Kurdistan.
Fazil Mirani, head of the Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Political Bureau, also sent congratulations to the management, staff and all employees. He pointed to the sensitive moment when the channel began. "Kurdistan 24 started broadcasting 11 years ago, when the war against ISIS broke out, and played a notable national and professional role in covering the war against the ISIS terrorists and showing the world the devotion and sacrifice of our heroic Peshmerga," Mirani said.
Mirani added that over the past 11 years the institution has become a trusted source of news and events in the Kurdistan Region in particular, and in Iraq and the world in general. He said it works professionally, honestly and responsibly to convey the true message of the people of Kurdistan. He praised the efforts of the channel's staff and journalists and wished the Kurdistan 24 media convoy further success.
Kurdistan 24 comprises a television channel, a radio station and a digital website, and delivers news in five languages. Congratulations also came earlier on Saturday from Ava Media Group, Health Minister Saman Barzanji, Faili Kurds bloc head Haidar Ali, known as Abu Tara, and the Honorary Consul of the Philippines, Falah Anwar. As the institution enters its 12th year, it says it is investing more in the abilities of young journalists to report the events shaping the Region and beyond.
